The evidence pyramid
How we rate evidence
In supplement advertising everything sounds equally certain. So next to every sentence we write down how strong its basis is.
EFSA
Authorised EU claim
The claim is on the EU register of authorised health claims. We may print it on the label, but only with the conditions the register sets.
Clinical
Studied in people, not authorised
There are human studies, but the EU has not authorised a claim. We tell you what was studied and promise no effect.
Mechanism
Known property
A known property or mechanism of the substance. It explains why the ingredient is in the formula. It is not a promise about results.
